‘The Black Cat’ to vie at Warsaw filmfest

Iranian movie ‘The Black Cat’ is slated to premiere at the Warsaw Film Festival in Poland.

The 36th edition of the event will host the film in the 1-2 COMPETITION section for first and second feature films (over 60 min) by directors from all over the world.

The Warsaw festival is one of the 15 festivals authorized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations.

‘The Black Cat’ is written by Ali Asghari who has written successful scenarios such as ‘The Corridor’, ‘Tsunami’ and ‘Night Shift’.

Morteza Hodaee, the director of photography of the award-winning film ‘Castle of Dreams', is the cinematographer of ‘Black Cat’.

‘The Black Cat’ targets a young audience. “It all started with a sunset that was no longer bleak,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The film is starring Ehsan Karami, Ali Oji, Tarlan Parvaneh, Kia Rokni, Bahareh Kian-Afshar and Hossein Pourkarimi.

Established in 1985, the WFF brings together films that help the audience discover American independent cinema as well as Asian, Latin American, Iranian, Russian, and Romanian cinema.

This edition of the festival is set for October 9-18, 2020.
